Fundraising Event for Banks Elementary School Technology Fund.
About the Event
In 2010 a local mom with 2 kids at Banks Elementary came up with an idea of a 5K/10K race for raising much needed money for technology at Banks Elementary School. The inaugural race in June 2011 was very successful and is now a highly anticipated community event.
The past three events have raised a total of $25,000 for the Banks Elementary technology fund. Students and teachers have greatly appreciated the purchase of over head projectors, tablets and software updates with the funds. The purchases have truly enhanced student learning. With your support we look forward to the 2014 results!
Each year there is a fun theme and prize at stake for the elementary student body. The principal, Mrs. Sewell, has graciously volunteered to do the following on race day, before the main event, when we hit the following registration goals:
Theme: Clown Around and Run!
50 registrations - wear clown nose
100 registrations - wear clown hair
150 registrations - wear clown pants and shirt
200 registrations - wear clown hat
250 registrations - wear big clown shoes
300 registrations - ride tricycle around track as a happily dressed clown!
Mark your calendar and start training. We are very excited for the upcoming Saturday, May 17, 2014 event and hope that you will join us!
Location: Banks High School Track
Come and Enjoy: great raffles, a variety of vendors, music, a great work out and a good time!
